- Slicer 2.6rc2 is out: many bugs fixed and many new features. Please use the bug tracker to report new bugs.
- Slicer 3.0 will be significantly rearchitected. Please review the plans and give feedback.
- If you want to contribute to Slicer 3 implementation, please let me know.
- DBP changeover
- We have an NIH approved procedure for changeover of the DBP's
- I am looking to you for nominations
- I expect 3 to 4 new DBP's.
- Goal to announce the new DBP's at the 2007 AHM
- Conditions for eligibility are:
- Willingness to adopt the NA-MIC kit
- Collaboration history with at least one of the Core 1 or Core 2 groups
- Hiring of CS personel into the DBP to help translational efforts
- NA-MIC definition of Accomplishment:
- We need to explain to outsiders the value-add that NA-MIC represents. The fact that all of you are outstanding is not enough.
- All cores: NIH grants resulting from NA-MIC
- Dissemination and training: Adoption of NA-MIC kit (what metric to use?)
- Core 1-3: Joint papers with core 1 and 2
- Publication pages : please update the pages.
- Do not forget to acknowledge NA-MIC
- This is an important measure of productivity (see above)
- Only peer reviewed journal papers really count.
- Volunteers for next year AHM? Preferred dates?
- Please send me emails about this
- Blast from the past (last year intro)
- From the NCBC RFA: Data sharing will be as important as software sharing…
- http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-02-035.html 'The NIH will expect investigators … to make their research data available to the scientific community ... . data … for broader use … be free of identifiers … and variables that could lead to deductive disclosure of individual subjects.'
- http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-03-032.html '.our definition of "the timely release and sharing" ... no later than the acceptance for publication of the main findings from the final data set. '
- RFA: Software Sharing: http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-RM-04-003.html
- …NIH does have goals for software dissemination…
- …software should be freely available …
- …permit the commercialization of enhanced or customized versions …
- …include the ability of researchers outside the center and its collaborating projects to modify the source code and to share modifications …
