Project Description

Objective

  • Slicer module for needle tip localization combining the information of an electromagnetic tracking system and a surface scanner.

Approach, Plan

  • Use PLUS library for electromagnetic tracker data acquisition and to obtain tip's position.
  • Use a surface scanner to obtain the surface.
  • Use a rigid body with color markers (3D printed), visible for both systems.
  • Register one space to the other in order to view it altogether.

Progress

  • Slicer module partially implemented.
