Back to CHB Imaging Resources

The Radiology Department has computer assisted tomography CT scanners.

Scanners

  • GE Lightspeed MDCT 16 system capable of helical scanning with a 0.5 second scan capability for routine exams and 0.4 second scan rotation for gated cardiac exams and is able to acquire images at a 0.625mm slice thickness. In addition this scanner also has a dose modulation feature that varies the mA during the exposure.
  • Siemens Sensation 64 MDCT scanner, capable of helical scanning with a 0.5 second scan capability for routine exams and a 0.3 scan rotation time for gated cardiac exams and is able to acquire images at a 0.6 mm slice thickness. In addition, this scanner also has a Care Dose feature that varies the mAs during the exposure.
  • 2 GE Cti single detector scanners that are used in Interventional Radiology and the Emergency Department. Both of these machines are identical and have limited capabilities.

Workstations

The CT suite has a GE (AW) 4.2 version workstation and a Vital Images Vitrea 3D workstation for filming and sophisticated 3D image analyses. Included are a helical CT, CT angiography, 2D reformatting and 3D reconstructions, stereotactic surgical guidance, and gated cardiac capabilities.
