This is the main wiki page for the Software and Data Integration Working Group (SDIWG)--this group works with the NIH Roadmap National Centers for Biomedical Computing (NCBC) and affiliated efforts

The main page for the NIH Roadmap National Centers for Biomedical Computing which is maintained by the NCBCs themselves is: http://www.ncbcs.org

The NIH site for the NCBCs is: http://www.bisti.nih.gov/ncbc/

For questions about the activities of the SDIWG please contact the chair Peter Lyster

Charter of SDIWG: The RFA states the goal of creating “the networked national effort to build the computational infrastructure for biomedical computing for the nation”. Here is a link to the wording in the original RFA-RM-04-002 [1]. In furthering this, the goals of the SDIWG in concert with the Project Team and Centers staff are: 1. To advance the domain sciences, and promote software interoperability and data exchange. 2. To capture the collective knowledge of software engineering and practices among the Centers and publish this knowledge widely.

One of the recent outputs from the SDIWG working groups (see threads below) is the iTools application that will allow you to visually browse NCBC tools according to their classifications, or to search keywords and other descriptors. Note there there are two kinds of views: (1) the visual Hyperbolic viewer, and (2) the more traditional hierarchical interface.
