Slicer3 is under active development with new functionality added all the time.

As of the end of January 2007, the development schedule for Slicer3 is:

• Slicer 3.0 Base release by end of March 2007
  • Features to include: MRML Load/Save, Viewing and Display, Command Line Modules (filtering, segmentation, registration, model building...), Basic Label Map Editor, EMSegmenter, Completed Overall GUI, Color Nodes, Fiducials, Linear Transforms, Model Display, Model Clipping, and much more!
• Slicer 3.1 DTI Release by June 2007
  • Features to include: DWI Load/Display, Diffusion Tensor Estimation, Tensor Scalar Calculation, Tensor Glyph Display, Interactive Tractography, Tractography Statistics...
  • Plus bug fixes and improvements to other modules
