Dr. Sonia Pujol is the Director of Training, Service and Dissemination of the Neuroimage Analysis Center (NAC), and lead investigator of the DTI Challenge initiative on the white matter mapping for brain surgery. Previously, she served as Director of Training of the National Alliance for Medical Image Computing (NA-MIC) part of the NIH Roadmap Initiative on Biomedical Informatics and Computational Biology.

Over the past 11 years, Dr. Pujol has trained more than 3,000 clinical researchers, scientists and clinicians on advanced medical image analysis techniques which include 3D visualization, segmentation, multi-modal image registration, in hands-on workshops at national venues and international conferences. Dr. Pujol research activities include international collaborations with clinical teams in France, China and Japan. She collaborates on the development of technology for the surgical treatment of Parkinson's Disease with the team of Dr. Eric Bardinet at the Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Epiniere, Hopital Pitie Salpetriere, Paris, France and the team of Dr. Pierre Jannin, at the University de Rennes, France. She collaborates with the team of Dr. Hugues Duffau at the Hopital Gui de Chauliac, Montpellier, France and with the team of Dr. Xiaolei Chen at the PLA Hospital in Beijing, China, on white matter mapping for brain glioma surgery. In Japan, Dr. Pujol collaborates with the team of Dr. Rie Oyama, Iwate University Hospital, on prenatal ultrasound and high-field MR imaging.
