mi2b2 software update

  • Bill and Chris are now working on the software enhancements to the i2b2 Project Management cell and other connections required to automate the steps that Bill now does manually by hard coding the MRNs etc per protocol into mi2b2 Workbench. Once that is done a tiny update to mi2b2 Version 6 to incorporate this. After that will come the update to RPDR to add a check box for investigators to request DICOM files which will automatically trigger the generation of a mi2b2 web client that will be sent to the investigator with the rest of the data files.
  • Steve has the Kikinis/Pieper brain MRI MS data RPDR database with MRNs, he sent them to Bill who is generating a customized mi2b2 Workbench that he will send to Steve.
  • CHB is currently working on incorporating mi2b2 Version 6. Jon Bickel is dealing with problems. Randy will check in with him to see if we can do anything to help.
  • Dave has finished the initial development of the Mac based mi2b2 Workbench. BIDMC is waiting for the mac mini server that was ordered to arrive then Jesse will try to deploy that version of mi2b2 there.
  • The software executables and installation guide is done and is ready to be tested by a new user.
  • Dave finished making the training materials for mi2b2 and has posted them to our wiki page.

Next steps

  1. Next week we will start thinking about how a strategy for a first manuscript to submit to Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI)
  2. Randy to schedule next presentation to Advisory Board. Shawn suggests doing this 3 times, once each for Partners, BIDMC and CHB. At each meeting invite the mi2b2 leaders, Advisory Board members and representative SVPs from each institution. Site leaders to help do the organization.
