  • Jeff Yap
  • Wendy Plensiak
  • Mark Anderson
  • Clare Tempany
  • Bill Hanlon

  • Randy Gollub
  • Ron Kikinis

1. Update on imaging consultation requests

  • Clare is the assignee for consultation about MRS of liver. She will re-contact thet PI to get more information on their multi-site clinical trial.
  • Genetics is launching a marketing plan with Catalyst central to promote their consultation service. If it is successful, it will be roll out to the other programs.

2. Software for DCE-MRI

  • Different software are used or tested at the different institutions.
    • DCE-MRI is used at BIDMC in clinical setting for prostate cancer, the method has been very well validated. They also have 2 other tools for research.
    • BWH and MGH used Confirma for DCE-MRI of the breast.
    • Liver and lung are also used for DCE-MRI.
    • A post-doc in Ron's group worked with the pulmonary team on a development of a module for DCE-MRI for Slicer.
    • Simon and Stefan plan to do pediatrics DCE-MRI at CHB.
  • The members proposed to collect all those data internally and build a workshop to do a panel presentation to the different institutions.
    • First Valerie will collect the information about state of the art at the different sites.
    • We will need the collaboration of the clinicians because the acquisition of the data is crucial.

3. Metrics for pilot grants

  • The review of the second round of pilot grants are happening now. It is important for the consultation service to get some feedback on how well the PI how requested some help from the imaging consortium did regarding to their grant applications.
    • Valerie will work with the Research Navigators at Catalyst Central to get a list of who got funded, what are the criticism, what are the metrics etc.

4. Introduction to imaging

  • The imaging consortium is asked to give an one hour lecture on imaging in November during the Introduction to Clinical Investigation course. The audience will be primarily non-imagers. The outline of the course will be discuss during the upcoming meeting. A couple of slides with the resources available through Catalyst and a pointer on where to find them will be useful.
  • The slides Valerie is collecting about quantitative imaging might be a good start.

5. ACRIN meeting

  • Annick, Jeff, Randy and Valerie will attend the ACRIN meeting (09/30 to 10/03 Arlington VA).
  • Randy will contact Dan Sullivan to see if it would be relevant for Yong to attend the part of the meeting related to imaging informatics.

6. Educational material for RSNA

  • Jeff gave the scope on the preparation of the course for the RSNA and the ACRIN meeting. Early September, the group should meet for a face-to-face where Jeff and Wendy would give a demonstration of how Slicer can be useful for those workshops.

7. New schedule for t-con starting September 1st

  • Starting September 1st, the Tuesday t-con will move to 9:00-10:00 am to better accommodate several members' schedule.
