For preclinical the problem is that all institutions have their facility and it is site specific because animal can not be moved around. It makes it also very difficult to do longitudinal studies. 1. Consultations update
- This week we had 4 new requests for consultation: 3D reconstruction imaging of upper airway in craniofacial (Simon Warfield), questions about neuroimaging (Randy Gollub), questions about preclinical core facilities (Gorodn Harris) and an Autism and Dyslexia Study (Doug Greve).
2. Feedback from Imaging networking session
- The imaging networking session on October 26 was a success. Several attendees followed up with the presenters. All the attendees received a tank you note and a reminder to send us request for consultation if they need help with their projects.
- Valerie will work with Ann on the organization of a similar session on preclinical imaging.
3. Preparation of Harvard Catalyst COC meeting (Nov 10)
- The groups discussed the expansion of the consulting service to the preclinical and/or microscopy community. For preclinical the problem is that all institutions have their facility and it is site specific because animal can not be moved around. It makes it also very difficult to do longitudinal studies. They can do some in the new preclinical core at DFCI (harbor site) because everything is behind barriers. What we decided to do is to get a list of the key people at each institutions so we will be able to direct investigator to them. We will also organize a networking session on preclinical imaging. During our previous lectures, several talks on preclinical imaging were included, we will continue to have some.
- We also discussed how to capture metrics for on going collaborations after a consultation request. A consultation is definitely considered successful is investigators are coming back.
