Overview
Slicer for Image Guided Therapy
This is a project page for an open-source surgical navigation software for Image Guided Therapy. The project try to extend 3D Slicer, freely available, open-source software for visualization, registration, segmentation, and quantification of medical data, and apply the extended software for Image Guided Therapy.
- Free open-source software for Image Guided Therapy research
- Provides software foudation (GUI, Image I/O, 3D viewer, tracker support), and you can focus on developping your original clinical application
- Available for Windows, Mac, Linux
- Access to state-of-art scientific medical image processing algorithm as well as most of commercial tracking device
- Affiliated scientific workshops and seminars to discuss and exchange ideas
- Increasing visibility of your research in IGT community using popular software platform
- Available for commercialization by concealing proprietary codes*

- List of collaborators
- List of sponsors
- Users publications
- This page lists papers using Slicer for Image Guided Therapy.
- Call for snapshots
- We are soliciting a snapshot of Slicer used in IGT. Please send a message to Nobuhiko Hata (hata {at-mark} bwh.harvard.edu} with the project description. Your contact info and snapshots will be listed in this page. Thank you!
Events
- September 14-15, 2006: We have been invited to participate in NIH Workshop on Standards in Change Measurement. This workshop will potentially set the stage for additional workshops that focus on Image Guided Interventions and Open Source standards.

Disclaimer
Slicer and Slicer for IGT have been designed for research purposes only and has not been reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug Administration or by any other agency. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT CLINICAL APPLICATIONS ARE NEITHER RECOMMENDED NOR ADVISED. Read the [license for Slicer] for more detail. One may use Slicer for IGT in clinical studies by obtaining approval from one's own institution through its own IRB certification procedure and use the software on one's own risk. The example clinical cases listed in this website are either from mock-up validation study or clinical validation study approved by IRB who weighed the merit against the risk of using Slicer for IGT not recommended for clinical use. For more information about the human clinical trials, visit NIH-NCI web site [1].
