Software for the fiber tracking and statistical analysis along the tracts has been implemented. Objective

We are developing an augmented reality guidance system for percutaneous needle insertions.

The system is currently undergoing preclinical tests at Johns Hopkins hospital, and the software is being developed at Queen's University. For easy transfer of software updates to the testing site, we are looking for a quick and user friendly way of software update.


Approach, Plan

We have developed a Slicer loadable module to operate the image overlay hardware.

Our plan for the project week is to make it work as a Slicer extension to provide easier update process for collaborators.

Progress

First working version of software for image overlay has been implemented before the project week.

During the project week, we compiled the module as an extension, uploaded to the extension server, and imported it with the Extension Manager. We have also done minor improvement in the module for better usability. A list of plans and a list of calibrations were intruduced, as opposed to the previous one calibration, one plan design.
