Medical images often contain a wealth of information, such as anatomy and pathology, not explicitly accessible. One way to address this issue is via image annotation and markup. Over the next two years we will create a comprehensive framework for annotation and markup within 3D Slicer, enabling users to capture structured information easily. The goal of the break out session is to get feedback from Slicer users about the current GUI design of the module. AHM 2010 - Slicer Annotation Breakout Session : Wednesday 9- ~10am

Overview and Agenda

Medical images often contain a wealth of information, such as anatomy and pathology, not explicitly accessible. One way to address this issue is via image annotation and markup. Over the next two years we will create a comprehensive framework for annotation and markup within 3D Slicer, enabling users to capture structured information easily. The goal of the break out session is to get feedback from Slicer users about the current GUI design of the module. Furthermore, we would like to hear from users what kind of functionality they require for the use cases. Additional information about this project is provided on the ARRA supplement site and the AHM project.

During this breakout session we intend to touch on the following:

  • 9:00 to 9:15 (Kilian) Overview of the current state of the annotation module ( GUI and MRML structure)
  • 9:15 to 10:00 Discussion about functionality needed for annotating images as well as specific use cases
  • depending on your interest and availability, we're happy to discuss beyond 10am

Logistics

  • When: Wednesday morning, 9-10am
  • Where: Ballroom A
  • Who: Anyone who is interest in annotating images
  • What: see above
  • Requirements: none
