1. Update on imaging consultation requests

  • There was no new consultation posted through the website this week.
  • Bob has found a data set (lung) for the DCE-MRI module for Slicer. He will meet with Jeff, Wendy and Valerie on Friday to teach them about the fitting process. Valerie will create an issue in JIRA where Bob is the consultant.

2. Demonstration of Slicer at different institutions

  • The Slicer training will be the first series of hands-on training that the consortium will offer. The material is ready.
  • There is an electronic room at Countway that would be the perfect setting for the Slicer demonstration. The software and the data sets can be loaded in advance.
  • This room will be book to offer a series of Slicer hands-on workshops, we will try to get a time when residents are available. Targeted invitation will also be sent but he event will be open to everybody.

3. MRI safety risk language

  • Valerie created a new section in the wiki page called training. It contains the MRI safety material.
    • The slides and the withe paper are posted for review by the members of the imaging consortium.
    • Valerie is gathering IRB template from the different institutions with risk language, consent forms etc.

4. Catalyst website revision

  • Catalyst central will do a major revision to the website this winter. One request from our group is that the navigation from the front page to the tools must be easier.
  • Randy was asked by Maria Cervone to be involved as a consultant in the redesign of the website.

5. Outline for medical imaging lecture

  • On November 5, 2009 the imaging consortium is giving an introductory lecture on imaging during the Introduction to Clinical Investigation course.
    • Everybody agreed that the course needs to be a basic one, detailing the different modalities and what information is available from each of them.
    • Randy suggested Dan Sodickson's tutorial form an HST course a good starting material for the lecture. Valerie will send the slides.
    • The last 5 minutes of the talk must be devoted to the resources that Catalyst provides as well as the resources form the different hospitals (3D imaging, TIMC, etc). Valerie already compiled a extensive list of those resources, they are posted on our wiki page.

6. Radiology Grand Rounds at CHB on 11/10

  • The slides generated for the ACRIN meeting will be edited for the Radiology Grand Rounds at CHB on November 10, 2009.
    • Jeff and Kasia already sent their slides to ACRIB, soon they will be posted on-line.
    • Bruce gave Randy a set of slides form Greg Sorensen about imaging biomarkers that can also be helpful.
  • If he is in town, Jeff agreed to give the lecture.
