This ZIP archive file contains image data from two patients having Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). File format is Analyze (.img and .hdr pair). In one, there is a noticable tissue contrast change in the frontal lobe as well as in temporal cortex. In the other, major surgery was performed on the subject to relieve cranial pressure. This resulted in the skull no longer being contiguous, there being a large 'scar' notable on a surface rendering of the scalp, as well as there being some small surgical anchors or EEG leads (I'm not sure which) present in the image that could affect registration, brain stripping, etc. These data are representative of the types of data frequently seen in TBI cases and computational algorithms need to be sensitive to the presence of contrast changes, evidence of surgical intervention, and the potential for non-brain/non-biological items in the images themselves.
