Update on Phase 3 mi2b2 software

  • Working at the BWH site, Bill and Chris made good progress in debugging the mi2b2 software problems described in last week's minutes. Now using our existing hardware the BWH site is transferring images at a speedy rate of 300 MB/min and the MGH site is transferring at a rate of >100 MB/min (is this due to using the laptop there?). Two new servers for MGH have been ordered.
  • Install will happen at CHB in the near future, it is in the queue for Paul as soon as he can get to it.
  • BIDMC update?

XNAT update

  • Tim from XNAT team talked with Chris about whether or not XNAT can zip up images and transfer them. This functionality is expected in the next version of XNAT: 1.5, release scheduled for December. In current 1.4 version there is an alternate method for image transfer, but it is not optimal for performance.
  • To further our coordination with Daniel Rubin and his AIM ontology and mark-up project, Randy and Kathy will be meeting with him and with Dan Marcus at RSNA. This is a potential collaboration with the BIRN project as well.
