Detailed Planning for MBIRN March Meeting, Sedona, Az
  • Ontology

C. Fennema-Notestine, J. Boline, and J. Turner will be attending the Spring Brain meeting just prior to the MBIRN AHM and will work there in lieu of meeting at the MBIRN AHM. C. Fennema-Notestine will also attend the MBIRN AHM and will update the participants on the Ontology task force's progress.

  • mBIRN Welcome

Progress Hightlights, can be from a site, a project, a core, a working group or task force - Each presention to consist of approx. three slides. It has yet to be determined what will be presented or by whom. K. Helmer, R. Gollub and B. Rosen will develop the list based on the content of this year's annual report.

  • DTI Task Force

There needs to be some joint discussion of the Project 1 DTI Calibration folks and the Project 2 DTI Analysis and Visualization folks to refine the 2006 goals. There will be an upcoming t-con on this subject on Feb 7, 2006 at 2pm EST to begin some of the planning. Randy and Karl will work with the team to develop the details of the AHM agenda on this topic. At the BIRN AHM there will be a discussion of the latest features of DTIStudio.

  • ITK Introductory Lecture

S. Pieper will profile ITK and its potential BIRN applications in a lunchtime presentation and discussion session.

  • XNAT Demonstration

D. Marcus will lead a hands-on workshop of XNAT. The tutorial data set will be data from ADNI pending approval. B. Rosen and A. Dale will work on securing that approval. Will also include an example data set from JHU of the LDDMM analysis pipeline raw and processed data.


  • Actions to prepare for Morph BIRN March Meeting in Sedona
    • Site PI or designee to:
  1. Update the meeting wiki page with the names of the attendees Mbirn:SpringConference2006.
  2. Update the schedule on the meeting wiki page to reflect who will attend each session.
  3. Make sure all the folks at their site are registered, have room and airline reservations.


Site-by-Site Review of MBIRN Sponsored Progress

K. Helmer will work with each site representative (see below) to obtain updated:

  1. manuscripts, abstracts, conference proceedings
  2. current supported personnel and their M-BIRN roles
  3. synopsis of annual progress

  • BIRNDUP

This needs to be a deliverable by the time of the next annual report and should be made a high priority by all involved. S. Pieper reported that there are currently command-line and GUI versions, but that the latter still has some outstanding issues that need to be fixed. The current unknown for BIRNDUP is the upload script. R. Gollub will follow up on this after the meeting.

Mori Data

S. Mori has ~80Gb of data that he would like loaded and he will bring it to the Sedona Meeting. To be clarified is exactly what he would like BIRN assistance with in this matter.
