Selecting Fiducials for Registration

Overview

This page contains detailed instructions & tutorials for selecting fiducial pairs that can be used to drive or evaluate a registration.

  • If you have a registration case that is not yet covered in the Registration Case Library, you can send us your data and we'll try to register. What helps in that process is a set of fiducial points that when lining up define a good registration. Below are instructions on how to build such a set you can then send along with the data. We will use that for parameter optimization.

Instructions

  • A set of corresponding points is defined as two sets of fiducials, where the corresponding points have the same position, i.e. you build 2 lists A & B. Point #1 in list A and point #1 in list B are a fiducial pair. Hence all the points from list A are chosen from your fixed reference image, and all the points from list B are from the moving image.
  1. Load both images
  2. Place fixed image into background and moving image into foreground
  3. Select Fiducials module
