1. Consultation requests submitted through the Catalyst website
- The Imaging Consortium received one new consultation request and discussed it during the t-con. An update on two former requests was also given.
- The Consortium unanimously agreed that there is a need for a tracking tool for the consultations. It is crucial that all consultations are optimally handled. One must be able to monitor the follow-up by the imaging specialists.
- CTSC Central's web development team is developping electronic tools to help direct consultation requests to the appropriate consulting group and tools to track consultations. Valerie and Randy are attending a meeting on the subject on March 20. Minutes from that meeting will be posted on the WIKI page.
- In order to improve the way the members handle the consultation requests during the weekly t-con, there is a need for more follow-up from the imaging specialists once they received the request forwarded by Valerie. They should try to be on the call for the next t-con or delegate someone from their institution. If needed by the nature of the consult, they are encourage to invite a specialist with the right expertise to participate to the t-con.
- The subject of pay per service resources was brought to the conversation after discussing one of the consultation requests.
- The list of these resources will be added to the list of imaging resources that Valerie is collecting from the different sites.
- The Imaging Consortium should evaluate if they want to expand and by offering fee for service.
2. XNAT engineer
- Interviews were conducted last week and all the interviewers were asked to send their comments to Valerie who will post them on the secure Xythos website.
- An evaluation of the candidates will be make during an upcoming conference call dedicated to the hiring of the XNAT engineer.
3. Hopkins’ new Center for Translational Imaging
- The Hopkin's Center is funded by a gift from an anonymous donor.
- The Imaging Consortium reiterated the need for resources to help investigators, especially young ones to implement what is recommended during the consultation.
- The Members will discussed that issue with Catalyst Central and also during the IRAT/CTSA meeting in Baltimore (March 29-31) to see what is done in other centers funded by a CTSA grant.
4. Organizing Catalyst Consulting Activities
