1. Administrative announcements

  • Valerie will ask Catalyst Central to get access to a conference call number for the Tuesday t-con when webex is not needed.
  • Valerie contacted HMS IT department to get more information on the different electronic rooms available at Countway. They would be very useful when the Consortium starts his series of hands-on workshops.

2. Update on imaging consultation requests

  • Simon and Bob are helping a PI at CHB for the design of ASL studies. The PI does not have an ecommons ID yet so she was no able to access the webform. Valerie will fill her info in JIRA.

3. HMS medical education day

  • HMS medical education day is scheduled on 10/27. The Imaging Consortium decided to present a poster to highlight what we are doing: quantitative biomarkers etc.
  • Jeff, as Director of Education will be in charge of that poster.

4. Software tools for DCE-MRI

  • Valerie will set up meetings with the different members using DCE-MRI software tools to start building a catalogue.
  • Once we have a couple of softwares that can be shared, a demo will be organized for the imaging consortium in one of the electronic classroom at Countway.
  • Ron and his team work on the integration of Slicer.

5. Call for cardiovascular paper

  • Last week, Tom Ulrich from Catalyst Central forwarded us an e-mail from the editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research. The Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research is putting together an issue focused on imaging in cardiovascular research and clinical practice. They are looking for review articles or original papers that illustrate how translational research is leading to new diagnostics and treatments. It would also be very important if a group would be willing to write a white paper on imaging technologies as they relate to translational medicine.
    • That request was then forwarded to Todd Perlstein who will ask among his colleagues who would be interested in co-writing that type of review.
    • Todd will also contact the editor of the journal to learn more about the requirements.
  • The group agreed that writing a review once a year would be a great way to share their expertise. It is also a great way to get better known locally by engaging people who are not from the Catalyst.
    • Valerie will investigate the Journal for Clinical Translational Science (official journal of the CTSA and APOR: association of patient-oriented research).

6. Slicer for demo at ACRIN/RSNA

  • Jeff, Ron and Wendy are working with the DCE-MRI data sent by Dr Macura (Johns Hopkins). They will have their second meeting on Thursday.

7. Informatics update
