  • Wendy Plesniak

1. Consultations

  • Imaging 129: question from Gordon Harris:Does anyone have suggestions of who to talk with for wound healing (trauma and diabetes related)? Charles Guttmann has some ideas and did contact Gordon.

2. Quantitative imaging reading room at RSNA 2010

  • At RSNA 2010, the RSNA is sponsoring the Quantitative Imaging Reading Room which debuted in 2009 as the Reading Room of the Future. The 2010 Quantitative Imaging Reading Room is an educational showcase for products and applications that integrate quantitative analysis and structured reporting into the image interpretation and reporting process. The quantitative imaging showcase will ring together various related efforts to provide visual and experiential exposure to the concepts of quantitative imaging and imaging biomarkers for RSNA attendees. For this purpose, quantitative imaging is defined as the extraction of quantifiable features from medical images. Completed proposals (no longer than 3 pages in length) must be submitted by April 1, 2010.
  • We will put this topics again on the agenda for next week when more people attend the t-con but it is a very good opportunity for our consortium.

3. FDA,SNM, RSNA meeting April 13-14

  • Our imaging consortium received the following invitation on behalf of Dr Daniel Sullivan: I am writing to invite you to attend a two-part workshop, “Coming to Consensus on Standards for Imaging Endpoints and Manufacturing of PET Radiopharmaceutical Products in Clinical Trials” to be held on April 13 and 14, 2010 at the Natcher Conference Center, on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. This two-day scientific workshop is being co-sponsored by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), SNM, and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) with key input from the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Imaging Program.
  • Jeff plans to attend this meeting, we will discuss next week is other people should also attend.

4. Education program

  • Jeff was invited by the DFHCC clinical trial education office to give a talk this Friday (Feb 19) about the benefits and risks of cancer imaging. It will be a very good talk to present to the IRB at the different institutions.
  • CME credit update: Valerie contacted Michelle Foley from Harvard Catalyst:
    • We will need to submit our CME application by February 26th and, unfortunately any courses held before March 25 will not be granted CME credit.
    • Instead of applying on a course-by-course basis, we can apply for a series: Advanced Applications of Medical Imaging.
    • Valerie will contact the people at the Harvard CME office to learn more about technologists CME.
  • Imaging in Oncology session: Gordon Harris offered to give a lecture on TIMC.
  • Registration: Valerie will work with Harvard Catalyst and the CCI on the online registration process.
