1. Consultations

  • Bob did a consultation with the Scholars in Clinical Science Program.

2. Education program

  • Valerie ran some statistics on the registration for the spring 2010 session. We must do a better advertisement at CHB and DFCI for the next session. Annick suggested to add the sessions to the event calendar on the DFHCC website. They are also TV advertisement through the DFCI. We must make sure that we reach all the research community with our advertisement.
  • It is important to keep talks about pre-clinical imaging in our sessions. Another important topics is tumor measurement. Cheryl Sadow's talks during the imaging in oncology sessions got great reviews, people found it very relevant to their job.
  • For the fall session registration, we will add a new field to the registration form: department. It is important for our group to reach investigators beyond Radiology departments.
  • Tentative agenda for the fall (Valerie will work on booking rooms)
    • cardiovascular imaging: 9/20 to 9/24. Speakers: Bon will contact Warren Manning at BIDMC.
    • imaging in oncology: 10/12 to 10/15
    • neuroimaging: 10/18 to 10/22
  • Our plan for january/February is to offer a new program, focused on pediatrics that we would offer at CHB and MGH. Important topics are dosimetry, radiation risks etc. Ted Treves from CHB offered his help to work on these topics when Valerie met with him earlier this year.

3. Mid-year review (from 11/09 to 4/10)

  • We did 96 consultations, reaching 14 institutions.
  • More that 450 people registered for our educations sessions (lectures, hands-on workshps)
  • We will also report on the progress of the ARRA supplement (mi2b2 project)
  • We will emphasize our involvement at the CTA national level with the CTSA imaging working groups (UPIC, Core and education, steering comity).
