1. Update on imaging consultation requests

  • There was no new consultation submitted through the Catalyst website this week

2. JIRA

  • JIRA was launched on July 16, all the consortium members should checked that they have access to the system. A user guide to JIRA will be posted on this WIKI. Valerie can give additional individual JIRA demonstration.
  • Valerie will enter all the legacy data in the JIRA system.

3. Education program

  • Randy will meet the Director of the Catalyst post-graduate program to learn more about this new program and what the role of the imaging consortium will be. She then will schedule a follow-up meeting with Jeff and Valerie.
  • Gordon W. reminded the group that the group needs to be able to present a very good program where everybody is involved. We must survey the educational needs of the community and fill the gap. Those courses will not be related to a degree.
  • Last week Jeff participated to a full 7 days workshop organized by the AACR designed for junior and mid/level biostatisticians. It was a case-based learning program on how to design and conduct a clinical trial. In the fall, AACR will be in Harvard to run a training program for early career translational scientists. Jeff agreed to give a lecture on imaging.
  • Jeff, Ron, Wendy and Mark will start working with the data sent by the group at Johns Hopkins. The goal is to determine if Slicer can be used as a teaching tool for quantitative imaging.

4. Slides for Grand Rounds

  • Valerie reminded the members to send her a couple of slides with examples of cutting edge quantitative imaging. She will compile them and present them during an upcoming t-con.
  • In order to outreach to the other hospitals and departments, the group designated people at each site to set up talks (BWH: Clare, MGH: Gordon H., CHB: Simon, BIDMC: Bob, DFCI: Jeff)

5. Informatics update

  • Randy have not heard anything yet regarding the administrative supplement submitted in May.
  • Randy and Valerie are working on the catalogue of images data suitable for secondary research analysis. They (with Todd) will meet in August with Dr Korasani to discuss the PACS system at BWH.
  • Yong and Wendy made appointments with the lead users groups, they are in the process of identifying the customization needed and they are also working (with Mark) on the development of a tutorial.
  • Through the Organization for Human Brain Mapping, Randy met with Jean-Baptiste Poline (France) who is using XNAT and is willing to share his scripts.
